The coefficient of friction between the drum and the shoe is 0.35. The force applied on the lever F = 100 N as shown in the figure. The drum is rotating anti-clockwise. The braking torque on the drum is______Nm (round off to two decimal places).

ΣMH = 0

F a + µRc - RN b = 0

100•1000 + 0.35RN•200 -RN •500 = 0

RN = 232.55N

                                      = 0.35 • 232.55 • 55 • (500 / 2) x10-3  = 20.34N
